In which she shows she's clever

No pictures today, just a story.

I realize that a lot of parents think their kids are the smartest ever.  I don't have a lot to compare Lara's cleverness to, not having been around kids her age, so to me, she seems really clever.  Maybe I just find it fascinating that she's able to put logical steps together.  Who knows.

This weekend we finally had some nice weather, where it was dry, sunny, and warm enough to go out walking, so Lara spent a lot of time outside.  We walked along the front sidewalk, and I took her on a field trip to the local garden store.  We had been at home for awhile, and were waiting for dinner to finish cooking.  During this time, Lara had free range of the house and was wondering about.  She toddled from her room into the dining room, carrying a sweater with her, and passed my dad and I and went into the kitchen, where she sat on the bottom step of the up stairs.  She then held up her coat to T, but wouldn't let him do anything with it, he called me over, and she held it up to me, and let me put it on her.  Then she got off the step, walked to the backdoor, and starting knocking on it.  Essentially saying 'Ok Mom, I got my sweater and put it on, we can go outside no'.

Then this morning, she was holding both her binks in her hand as we were walking out of her room after getting dressed.  I told her she was only allowed to take one bink with her, and to decide between froggy and giraffe.  She looked at them for a couple minutes, then pointed to her crib, and when I walked over, she tossed the frog in.

My daughter, she's connected some dots.  We better watch out.

In which she has minions

Last July, we took a picture of Lara sitting with a dog on either side, looking like she was on a throne (and hollering off with their heads).  We took another one over the weekend.  The dogs sure look scared of her now.

In which she bathes her binks

Lara has discovered, after watching others do it, that her binks need to get rinsed off on occasion.  And since she can't yet reach the sink, the dog's water bowl will do just fine, thank you very much.

In which she acts like a lush

We were doing some work on the house this weekend, and Lara was just roaming in circles around the house, carrying her cup.  Every once in awhile she'd pause, lean up against something, and take a drink, then resume her walk.

In which she wants to travel

We got back from our trip and Lara was fascinated by the suitcase.

(This should've been posted back in january, but i couldn't find the picture)

In which she enjoys a tasty beverage

Both Monster and I went down sick the past week, and T has been traveling for the past couple weeks, so keeping the wheels on the bus has been a challenge.  And the blog of course gets neglected.  Working on that.

Both my mom and T have been teaching Lara to make a smacky sound after taking a drink.  This is something T does naturally, and my mom does to be funny.  At least someone is amused.
