What has happened...the sweater described in the last post never happened. I took the yarn and made something pretty and easy to follow (thanks Ysolda Teague). It was one size too small (a pattern i've noticed when knitting sweaters), but still looks super cute. Not long before that last posting, I got hitched. Still am hitched, happily even, although as with all marriages there have been challenges. But the challenges are mild compared to what they could be. Thankfully, communication is something we're pretty danged good at. Fast forward to last December, when I spent a quick 7 hours giving birth to a little girl. She's 7 months old now, and pretty darned adorable. She's starting to eat solids, and sit up, and god forbid she'll be mobile soon.
Most days it's pretty great being a mom. Doesn't leave a lot of knitting time, but I'm still squeezing it in here and there.
We've done some house remodeling..we have a nice walk in closet now that's mostly finished (it's usable, and thus why we've been dragging our feet).
We're also working on a pretty major backyard remodel. It's our summer project. We tore the scary deck down and put in a patio. This week we're having new steps put on the back of the house. Now the steps look really nice and the siding on the house looks really crappy.
The garden is doing beautifully this year. Last year was a meh year. Weather was mostly grey and cloudy. I've been eating lettuce almost every day, it's growing that well.
The plan is to keep relatively regular postings, if nothing else than to document the kiddo. We of course have lots of photos, but not a lot else.
